Sausage and Peppers
Sausage and peppers is a traditional Italian American meal. Yet it can be cooked several different ways according to your liking. The first decision you have to make is simply which sausage you like. I personally like the thin coil sausage, but, it is not always available to me. So I have to settle for the thick, stubby, spicy kind. Once you got that decision in the bag, your ready to start.
Now I like to bake my sausage's 3 quarters of the way through, then add them to my hot vegetable mixture. You can make this determination simply by touching them. Some women and men are better than others at this we know, yet, do your best if you lag in this area. While you are cooking the sausages at a nice 375, you should be cooking the peppers and onions stove top in a nice big pan. I use red and yellow peppers simply because of the beautiful colors and delicious taste. To hell with the green ones! Heat some olive oil and chopped garlic in large pan, Then add your sliced red and yellow peppers to the oil. When they start getting soft, add your sliced onion to the mixture.
Remember guys, when ever your sauteing vegetables, start with the hardest followed by the softest. So when your sausages are 3 quarters done, take them out the oven and place them in the vegetable mixture til they are finished cooking. Salt and pepper to your liking, then grab your self a loaf of Italian bread, and start eatin'! That's all it takes to make delicious Sausage and Peppers wit onions. EASY!!!
